(webstagram) How jaguar friendly is your coffee?⠀
“One of our challenges is how to link human well-being and sustainable livelihoods to nature conservation and how we share the benefits of nature more evenly across people,” says #impacter@jfgonzalezmaya, Scientific Director of @procatcolombia. ⠀
José uses scientific methods to protect jaguars and ecosystems in remote areas of Latin America. ProCAT is behind an eco-label for jaguar friendly coffee for farmers who let jaguars live peacefully on their land. ProCAT helps the farmers market their ”jaguar friendly” coffee, allowing them to earn an additional income by protecting an animal that is decreasing in numbers all over the Americas.⠀

(webstagram) What would you do if a wild animal killed your cows, the only source of income you have?
Farmers in South Africa will often kill cheetahs and other wild animals as a result. But thanks to impacter Joseph Hlako of @endangeredwildlifetrust and lifestock guardian dogs, farmers’ cattle are left alone. The dogs protect the cattle, and therefore save wild animals from being killed – a method that has shown a close to 100 % success rate.
