Threw this together last night, needs a tonne of work, but I'll do that today 🙌
This is how I go about making my music.
I make a quick 16 bar loop, find all the elements I wish to use.
Then I go ahead to this stage I'm at now, where I've fully placed out my structure.
Next, I'll go through the entire track and add some flair and remove the obvious issue, repetitiveness.
This, for me, is a quick method for writing music. I used to get brutal creative block. I would write half a track, have no real idea where to progress next, and I'd end up spending days perfecting an intro that ultimately, remains unfinished in my project folders. We all have them and we all kid ourselves that we'll finish them too!
Ever since I adopted this method of writing, where I tackle one area until it's completed in a set order (sound choice, structure, remove repetitiveness, mix, final details, master), the amount of projects I've finished has skyrocketed while the number of unfinished projects has began to go down 🙌
A lot of wordiness for this post, but it's just an insight to how I work.
Anytime I upload a clip like this, despite looking like a full track, I'm actually only just finished stage 2 out of my 6 writing stages in a track 🙏. The next stages that come is what makes the track go from a nice idea into something others will want to hear 🔥
